During Intercultural Coaching, I use the COF (Cultural Orientation Framework) that facilitates the understanding of the cultural characteristics of individuals, teams and organizations, and can be used for:
• Self-evaluation
• Individual coaching
• Leadership development
• Intercultural training
• Team training
• Organizational cultural audits.
• The COF is based on the book “Coaching Across Cultures” by Philippe Rosinski, chosen by the Harvard Business School as its outstanding book in the business leadership category.
• COF goes beyond the national focus and allows us to analyze other cultural influences that make up our identities (country, religion, family, gender, profession, generation, company, etc.).
• With its 17 dimensions, the COF methodology allows us to become aware of our Preferences: how we communicate, think, manage time, organize ourselves, and deal with power and responsibility.
• It allows you to compare your individual profile with your teammates or with different national cultures.
• COF also allows us to discover new options to increase our adaptability, creativity and efficiency.
• The COF method is the equivalent of the MBTI personality assessment applied to the Cultural profile and is available in Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and Czech.
The COF report contains two types of information for each of the 17 dimensions:
• Your GUIDANCE (whatever you prefer)
• Your SKILLS (what you do and are capable of)
Stronger preferences and skills = deeper impact and potential for cultural gap and social distance when working with someone different.
As an intercultural coach, I will help you use the COF questionnaire in order to perceive cultural orientations that you may be less aware of and, more generally, to help you interpret the results and discover how to apply this self-knowledge in concrete situations.
• Knowing your Cultural Profile
• Being able to make the most of alternative cultural perspectives
• Discovering creative solutions to leverage cultural differences and address complex challenges
• Achieving higher levels of self-awareness and personal fulfillment
• Increasing your positive impact on others
• Leveraging the advantages of cultural diversity (greater creativity and innovation)
• Achieving greater results for your company
• Ease of use and reference
